GYMNASTICS at Moonee Valley YMCA, Essendon

KWC are thrilled to have collaborated with YMCA Gymnastics in Essendon to offer monthly gymnastics classes. On the final Saturday of each month from 1:15 - 2:45pm, children and their siblings have exclusive access to this wonderful space and are free to ‘play their way’.

The gymnastics centre is equipped with safe and accessible-friendly equipment including balance beams, bars, rings, trampolines and a sprung floor. The group will be supervised by a qualified instructor as we freely explore the equipment and challenge ourselves to an obstacle course. This class is parent/carer assisted, so we ask that children remain supervised at all times.

The session begins with a brief group warm-up using colourful scarves and ribbons before plunging into everything the gymnasium has to offer. There is a quiet, seperate room next to the gym set up as a ‘breakaway zone’ filled with sensory toys and regulation tools to be accessed at any time.

This is a safe, supportive and understanding environment where neurodiversity affirming values are upheld.
